CLUB RULES

MEMBERSHIP
A $20.00 annual membership fee will be collected from each member at the time he/she joins the club. Senior members 65 years and older shall receive free membership. Membership fee will be for the calendar year in which the member joins. (Example: 1997/$20.00 or 1998/$20.00, not June ‘97 till June ‘98) Membership must be current before a member is allowed to fish a tournament. Club membership is limited to 100 members. New members must be sponsored by at least 2 regular club members. A member, immediate family (father, son, daughter, mother, wife, brother and immediate in-laws) may fish one tournament as a quest without being a member.
TOURNAMENT FEES
Entry fee per tournament is $25.00. $5.00 of the entry fees will be retained by the club for expenses and Fish Off. A 50/30/20% payback to three places will be paid for tournaments. No entry fee will be carried over to the next tournament. Fees for the fish-off tournament will be $25.00 per member and 100% of the entry will be paid out. Fish-off fees are NON REFUNDABLE!
BIG BASS EVENT
A big bass pot will be available at each tournament for those wishing to participate. Cash only will be accepted. The fees for the big bass event are $10.00 for a lone fisherman (1 per boat) or $20.00 per boat (2 fishermen). Boats with 2 members must both participate in the big bass event. One of two members participating is not acceptable. 100% will be paid of the pot with 60% going to first big fish and 40% going to second big fish. In case of a tie, the place will be split 50/50.
TOURNAMENTS
A total of 10 tournaments will be held between February and October each year. The members best finish in 9 of these tournaments will be counted for the clubs championship points. (Note: Fish off will be used to break all ties if any occur)
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The Tournament Director will have the option of canceling, delaying, or transferring the location of any tournament because of SAFETY reasons. All possible attempts will be made to notify all known participants should a tournament be canceled or relocated. All tournaments will be fished at Lake drawn. No lock thru Dams to other Lakes will be permitted.
TOURNAMENT TIMES
Tournaments One (1) and Two (2) will be from 7 A.M. till 3 P.M.. All remaining day tournaments will be from 6 A.M. till 2 P.M. with the exception of the 2 day tournaments scheduled each year. Two day tournament times will be announced by the club officers not to exceed 16 hours total. Night tournaments will be from 7 P.M. till 3 A.M.
POINT SYSTEM
The following point system will be used to determine a club champion:
Tournaments Participation (No fish weighed) 50 points
Place of Finish 1st Place 100 points
Decreasing 1 Point Per Place.
SCORING
Tournament standings will be determined by the pounds and ounces of fish weighted by boat. A creel limit of 5 bass per boat may be weighed. Two members fishing from the same boat will both receive the same amount of points earned. Prize money will be paid to the boat weight. Fish will be a minimum of 12 inches in length or the prevailing size limit for the water fished. Fish will be measured on THE CLUBS GOLDEN RULE with the mouth closed. A penalty of 4 ounces will be assessed for a dead fish. Only one dead fish per boat is allowed. Only Largemouth, Smallmouth and Kentucky Spotted Bass are allowed. All bass that are weighed alive will be released with the exception of trophy fish that are to be mounted. A 4 ounce penalty will be assessed for any live fish not released. A One pound penalty will be assessed for each short fish that is weighed in. If 6 fish are brought to the scales the largest fish will be kicked out. If more than 6 fish are brought to the scales the participants will be disqualified.
BOATS
All boats used will be properly registered and equipped with all required Coast Guard safety equipment. Members must wear a Coast Guard approved floatation device anytime the boat is on plane.
INSURANCE/LIABILITY
Individual boat owners are responsible for maintaining all required insurance. Proof of insurance of boat owners must accompany membership forms. All members and guests fishing tournaments will be required to sign a release of liability for the club and its officers. No Insurance, No Fish!!
TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT
Only artificial lures with the exception of pork will be used. Only 1 rod and reel combination may be used at one time. No fly rods or rods over 8 feet in length will be used. Trolling as a method of fishing is prohibited. All bass will be caught in a sporting manner.
PROTESTS
All protests will be lodged with the Tournament Director prior to the start of weigh-in. Protests will be settled by a committee consisting of club officers present at the tournament.
AWARDS BANQUET
The Club President will appoint a committee to arrange the awards banquet at the first meeting of the year. A date for the banquet will be announced to the membership as soon as possible. Any member may attend the banquet regardless of how many tournaments they fished. Only those members fishing seven or more tournaments will be eligible for the door prize drawing.
FISH-OFF
A member must fish as least seven regularly scheduled tournaments to be eligible for fish-off tournament. The site for the fish-off will be selected at the meeting prior to the tournament. The names of the lakes will be placed in a container and the last lake to be drawn will be the tournament lake. At the completion of the 10 scheduled tournaments and after all club expenses have been paid, 100% of all monies in the club bank account plus the tournament fees for the fish-off will be used as prize money in the fish-off tournament. The fish-off will be a 2 day event with the time of each days competition set by the Tournament Director. The total tournament time will not exceed 16 hours. Five Places will pay back for the fish-off. Guests will not be allowed to fish during the fish-off. Immediate family may accompany the participating member but not in a competitive manner.
